Independent consulting — data & quantum security
I'm Johannes, a data architect and Qiskit Advocate. I build data platforms on SAP BW, MS SQL server and modern stacks such as Databricks and Snowflake. I advise healthcare and critical-infrastructure operators in the DACH region on quantum-safe communication as QKD moves from lab to production.
My background is in data modeling, ETL/ELT development, data governance, and data quality — much of it built inside the SAP ecosystem, from BW/4HANA implementations to S/4HANA migrations. That work taught me the same lesson from a dozen different angles: a data platform is only as trustworthy as its weakest link, whether that link is a broken transformation or an exposed channel.
That's what led me toward quantum security. As a Qiskit Advocate, I've been developing a QKD-as-a-Service framework aimed at organizations that can't afford a "we'll deal with it later" posture on encryption — starting with healthcare providers and critical-infrastructure operators across the DACH region, where regulation and risk both run high.
Engagements typically fall into one of two tracks — often both, for organizations rethinking their data architecture with security as a first-class requirement.
The same four stages apply whether the deliverable is a data platform or a quantum-security roadmap.
Audit the current architecture — pipelines, governance, or security posture — and identify where trust is weakest.
Model the target state: a data architecture, a governance framework, or a QKD integration path suited to your infrastructure.
Implement — pipelines, data models, or a QKD pilot — with documentation your team can maintain after I leave.
Put ongoing data-quality and security assurance in place so the work keeps holding up as conditions change.
Most of my quantum-security work is concentrated in a specific region and a specific set of sectors, by design — that's where the regulatory pressure and the stakes are highest right now.
Whether it's a data platform that needs rebuilding or a first conversation about quantum-safe communication, I'd like to hear the specifics.
